Brief description of your organisation:
Sadat City Languages School is a private not-for-profit school offering inclusive education to students from Nursery, Kindergarten, Primary, Preparatory and Secondary Stages.

With over 22 different cultures/countries represented, SCLS 2009 International Day will feature a Model United Nations simulation with a UN Trivia Quiz/Game.

Students are expected to research on the country/culture chosen and organize an exhibit of their works accordingly, as well as, sample local cuisine by cooking simple recipes and finally, dressing up in costumes/attire specific to the culture chosen… The event will culminate with an "Open Day" exhibit on April 23rd, 2009 which is highlighted with a MUN and UN Trivia competition.

Objectives (Maximum 50 Words):
This school annual event is aimed at raising the cultural awareness as it seeks to keep students informed so they may be equipped to address global concerns i.e. climate change & the environment. It also aims to provide a better understanding of the UN system towards the achievement of peace & tolerance.
Target Groups (Maximum 50 Words):
The entire student body and school community will be involved and the whole city population is the potential target audience. We expect to have honorary guests from various embassies and cultural centers such as the Russian Cultural Center, the Indian Cultural Center, the US embassy, and Palestine
Activities (Maximum 130 Words):
With over 22 different cultures/countries represented, SCLS 2009 International Day will feature a Model United Nations simulation with a UN Trivia Quiz/Game. Students are expected to research on the country/culture chosen and organize an exhibit of their works accordingly, as well as, sample the local cuisine by cooking simple recipes and finally, dressing up in costumes/attire specific to the culture chosen… The event is highlighted with a MUN and UN Trivia competition.

Partnership details:
1) The following countries have been chosen by different classes and faxes have already been sent to respective embassies/consulates in Cairo; we are looking to interact with citizens of: Brazil, Brunei, China, Egypt, England, Hawaii, India, Japan. Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Oman, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, etc 2) Neighboring schools from the city will be invited, including a local orphanage as part of the Global Youth Service Day of the People to People International Student Chapter: Sadat Peacekeepers & Agents of Change for Tomorrow. The school will be opened to the general public for an entire day
