[1]Frankly speaking we could not believe till now what happened yesterday Nov. 4th 2008 over there in USA, Is that the hurricane of change? This is one of the times I have to raise my hat to the American system, not just I, but all the youth around the world should do that, because a young Afro-American guy could fight for his dream to be the president No 44 of the biggest country in the world (USA).
It is not a victory of just an ordinary president, but this is the victory of equity, equality, justice, human rights and liberty. Yeah, we can believe the American dream only this time, and it is reminding me by the glorious article “I have a Dream” of the Afro-American politician Martin Luther King the martyr of liberty and equality and also Malcolm Axe and others who really fight for carrying out this dream and make it reality and inspired a lot of human rights, freedom of expression activists and intellects around the world.
Obama comes in the right time after 8 years of despair, demolition and recently economic recession committed by the failed ex-president Bush who thinking himself as hero or savior, but he will never be and Republicans who turned our Middle East area into curse, and who did not achieve any democracy in that area as they promised, but enforced the existed oppressive regimes for their interests in our area. Bush who spent Trillions in illusive wars against undetermined enemy called terrorism and exposed both his people and our peoples to fatal economic damages (not the said ironic real estate mortgage that aroused in media to hide the catastrophe, because all the people who search profoundly know that is a false allegation) instead of helping his people and our peoples.
Nov.4th supposed to be the Global Youth Day according to this very special occasion, because youth made Obama, and I think that youth who represent 70% of the global population can create another Obamas around the world too, therefore, they should see well this American amazing experience and it should be a very good lesson for us as peoples of Africa and Arab Muslim world.
Therefore, I have special recommendations and requests from President and my Brother Obama as follows:
1- I invite Obama, the human rights activist, to visit the Arab African World and give the youth associations, NGO’s, human rights and freedom of expression activists the priority instead of the governing regimes to support us to exceed the socio-political and socio-economic problems we face here.
2- Obama is required to support the youth intercultural dialogue between the American youth and the Middle East youth, not only through educational programs, but in the other fields (he can study well Euro-Med partnership experience and avoid its disadvantages) to achieve the following: a) improve the image of US in this Area. b) To fight the phenomenon of stereotyping that contaminating the two interested sides. c) To affect positively on Middle East youth practices for better participation, human rights and democracy.
3- We are the youth of the Arab world can put our hands with Obama to solve both the Israeli-Palestinian problem, because we cannot survive in our area fighting each other all the time, we have to survive in peaceful and cooperative atmosphere with our neighbors, please check Camp David Initiative of President Sadat and the Peace Treaty of 1978 and the initiative of 2002 of Saudi Arabia (youth can achieve that, it is the time to open a new page with our neighbors), also can help a lot in Iraq.
4- It was good from Obama to hear that he is ready to start negotiations with the Iranian side without prior conditions or terms, however, he is recommended as a perfect professor of law to prepare a case study or a feasibility study on Iran and to listen to them better before starting any negotiations and without listening to any third parties like the pressing media to recognize the actual situation of this country, and he should know that Iran and any country in the area is entitled to have a Nuclear Reactor for Energy as Israel, because as he know that such reactors are used in development according to creating both electricity and potable water, therefore, I want him also to help Egypt in that respect, because this project is delayed here for more than 40 years since 1967.
5- Equal and respected dialogue is better than wars, therefore, I advise Obama to give Africa some sort of care in respect of health and development, therefore, we can consolidate each other (American and African youth) to fight AIDS, building solar towers for energy as alternative of oil and gas that shall help millions in development and shall create many jobs too, we can help each other in raising the awareness of the poor people and help them a lot because Africa has a lot of wasted resources and need just good case studies and feasibility studies to develop it in the right way.
6- Education especially pre and post university is very important too, USA has to help our world to apply the codes of both Academic Freedom and the Real Scientific Research through destining a big part of USAID program destined to Egypt or other member states in the area in that respect instead of military aids or useless aids, the aids programs should be reformed completely according to the priorities of the countries who benefit from it.
Finally, I know very well that Obama the new president will face a lot of domestic challenges as a successor of Bush, however the foreign affairs and the image of US has to be reformed too and I’ll never resist to repeat it over and over again “youth can get it made”.
