WORKSHOPS: From the 3rd to 18th of July 2009 in Galilee, Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza
From the 3rd to 18th of July, Meetings and exchanges between artists and children with various backgrounds will be at the centre of the development of this workshop.
In a first time, during 3 to 4 days, the group of European artists, with artists and socio-cultural actors, will initiate new children to the different artistic and audiovisual practices.
As during previous stages of the project, children will make their first experience of artistic practice. Throughout this project, children who lack access to culture and art are a priority. The association still has the desire to give these children the opportunity to open up and emancipate themselves.
During these three days, this first group of children from different cities will follow a series of sessions of workshops:
- A workshop of "selection" which will allow us to keep about ten children.
- A workshop of theatrical improvisation.
- The three or four children selected during this second session can join the pre-existing group for the continuation of this residence.
A show will close the workshops and bring together all participants.
RESIDENCE: From the 3rd to 20th of august 2009 in Nazareth where an intensive program will take place
Meetings and exchanges between artists and children with various backgrounds will be at the center of the development of this residence in Nazareth.
The theatre proposition is expanded by other artistic propositions which are open to other performing arts, the audio-visual and the plastic arts, and give rhythm to:
- Artistic performances, multimedia shows.
- Projections and debates related to the theme.
- Shooting and video editing around artistic projects.
The days will proceed in two times. Distributed according to the artistic domains (theatre, music and song, photography, dance…), the children will initially be accompanied by pairs of artists (a European and a Middle-East artist). Then, they will all participate in a collective working time. At the same time, the artists will devote a moment to meet, work together and prepare the final representation.
